Waiting

Our hold up the past few weeks has been on our own soil. The Department of Homeland Security has an application process that requires a large check along with a copy of our homestudy and some other documentation.  They sent us a receipt December 19th that they received our packet.  The next step is being given a date and time for fingerprinting etc. Since I have not heard from them in a while I decided to email them to find out what the status of our case was only to find out they had “No record of receiving your homestudy.” My check was paper clipped to our homestudy and they were able to find the check and cash it just fine.  Crazy thing is if I didn’t contact them they would never have contacted me.  I was finally able to get a point of contact and send in another copy of our homestudy only to be told today that they will place it in line behind everyone else so their estimated wait time is another 75 days.  Do they realize that they are the the ones that lost my homestudy and that a little girl’s life is waiting in the balance while Homeland Security makes a mistake?  I thoroughly expected this from the Haitian Government but not from our own.

With all that being said, for those of you that are asking, we are still waiting. We have no date or time or estimate to give you.  You know as much as we do, at this point. We are so thankful for Children of the Promise for sending us a file with 102 pictures of Esther but it has made it that much more difficult to sit and wait.  I can’t even begin to imagine what I am going to feel like when I have to go visit her and leave her there.  That is why I have been focusing my prayers on the mommas that I know are in that position.  I know they are struggling just waiting on a call to book a ticket to bring their little ones home.  My hope is that my prayers are helping them get through the wait and that someone will be praying us through when we get to that point.

We will continue to wait and pray and fast and know that God’s timing is perfect and Esther will be in our arms soon!  We have joined hands with another fundraising partner Ordinary Hero as we are trying to finish raising support and funds for travel when we do get that call we get 40% of their profit you just click on my name at check out in the affiliate dropbox and they send a check to our agency.

Please share our story and our blog and any of the links on the right hand side that support our cause and if you want to partner with me in orphan care ministry please send me an email or message and I would love to share with you about where the Lord is leading our family in the fight for Orphans!

Blessings,
Tiffany
