Mango Tree update

Although there isn’t much for me to update you on as far our adoption goes I thought I would give some updates on other items related to Haiti and our orphanage.  Children of the Promise, (our orphanage in Cap Haitian) is beginning a sewing program called Mango Tree Designs. http://childrenofthepromise.org/

This program empowers moms to raise their families out of poverty through learning the trade of sewing. Each of the moms then has the opportunity to sell her products online and through stores in the US. This gives the moms financial means needed to pay for schooling, food, housing, and medical care of herself and her children. They are also going to offer a work from home program, where each Mom can lease to own her sewing machine. This allows her to create her own schedule, still care for her children, and take on side jobs as well!  This form of orphan prevention is THE best form of orphan care I can imagine! https://www.facebook.com/MangoTreeDesigns

If you want to contribute, in anyway, to this program let me know. We are looking for boutiques or online stores to sell the dresses in as well as donations of card stock and financial resources for sewing machines and material (that must be purchased locally). Special thanks to my friend & co-worker Denise Kendrick for designing the logo and to Paul at BCI Labels for donating the tags for the dresses.

Continue to pray for our family as we wait. We haven’t received any updates since we made our trip to Haiti last month.  I can’t say we are patiently waiting but we are waiting and growing and helping others through their process until it is our time to bring Esther home!
“Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him;….” Ps 37:7
